The work of the graphic designer is to identify, understand and use the tools of their trade intelligently, in order to create a message that rises above them. The fundamentals of print design and reprographics are covered, using the leading industry software.

The role of the designer is not limited to the creative aspects of this profession. The realities of establishing a career as a practicing designer involve understanding how to work within legal and occupational frameworks regulating

Qualifications
You are expected to have passed matric or the equivalent (this requirement can be waived in special circumstances). Art, design, mathematics & excellent communication skills are an advantage.
Basic computer literacy
You should have basic computer literacy. If this is not the case proof of training in basic computer literacy will be required in order to be eligible for this programme.
Completed evaluation form
This form will take you through questions from computer literacy, general knowledge of art & design fields, to questions about yourself. There are no real right or wrong answers to many of the questions, but it does allow us to get a better understanding of your personality and level of awareness.
Portfolio
You will be required to complete a basic select portfolio of drawings and designs; allowing us to ascertain how visually orientated you are. This portfolio can be supplemented by your own art/design work.
Interview
Upon receipt of your evaluation form and portfolio you will be interviewed to gauge your suitability for admission to this programme.

- Successful or unsuccessful, you will be notified as soon as possible of the outcome of your application.
- Once accepted, a deposit has to be paid in order to secure a place in this programme. This amount is non-refundable.
- Fee payment can be structured in a variety of ways and this can be discussed with the programme advisor.
